The past two weeks have been very productive for me. Excactly two weeks ago, I found out that I have been accepted to Hunter College for the next fall 2010. This news could not make me happier since I tranfering to Hunter has been my most recurrent dream during the past 2 years. Altough I pretty much know what my major will be about, I found out that Hunter is offering some other interesting programs. For instance, I found out about a major in Comparative Literatures. Befaure, I wanted to double major in English and German, but now I am finding this option even more interesting. Moreover, I had an interview with the coorditator of the translation department and he also suggested me to look more deeply into this option. I want to become a translator and so I will take in mind his advice.
Other than that, I am struggling with all my classes since I have so many homework to do! It is hard but at the same time I find all the classes that I am taking this semester interesting and it helps a lot! Plus, this is my last semester here at LaGuardia, so thinking about having the whole summer free makes me feel much better!
The only negative not I have is about my API tutoring sessions. In fact, in order to fullfill my internship requirement, I became an Academic Peer Instructor for Introduction to Philosophy. I have to re-take a class I took last semester and provide a minimum of 3 hours per week of tutoring for the students of that class. I am loving this job but unfortunately not many people are showing up to my sessions. Usually I have one to two students and yesterday I had none. I know it could happen, especially now that everybody just came back from Spring Break, but noticing that the other tutors, who tutor sujects such has Calculus and Anatomy, get a minimum of 10 students per session makes me feel bad...Anyway, I hope that after the first exam more people will decide to come.
That's all for today, I have to head back to my homework now!!
